Kuwait, April 2016.
The Sultan Center (TSC) hosted a special reading event on April 24th at its Sharq Mall location for the children of Al Salam Nursery to celebrate World Book Day – an annual international event that aims to encourage children to explore the pleasure of reading. During this event, entertaining tales came to life as captivated youngsters enjoyed books read to them by engaging storytellers. All the children received book gifts as part of the celebrations.
Education and learning are concepts that contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society, and there’s no better way for TSC to drive this valuable message than by participating in the World Book Day celebrations that are simultaneously held in over 100 countries around the globe. The aim of World Book Day is to nurture knowledge and expand minds, a core principal that TSC is committed to upholding. Lisa Al Gharib, Marketing Manager at TSC said “Our commitment to social affairs sits at the core of TSC’s values as a Kuwaiti company and we want to participate in driving the benefits of reading and education. We wanted to promote reading as a means for personal enrichment and enjoyment for all. The aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.”
More than 20 children attended the event and participated in the interactive storytelling sessions. After these sessions concluded, each child received their own book, a practice upheld throughout the world on this annual event.
