The Sultan Center (TSC) in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy in Kuwait launched “Dutch Healthy Food Week” event on April 19th, 2018 at TSC Boulevard store. The event which aims at highlighting and showcasing Dutch products and the importance of healthy living, was inaugurated in presence of The Netherlands Ambassador to Kuwait Frans Potuyt, along with TSC Commercial Director Makram Malaeb. Attendees also included TSC Management team, partner Suppliers and members of the Kuwait Community.
Following the inauguration attendees toured the store alongside TSC Management, in which Malaeb showcased the extensive range of Dutch products available within the store giving a main focus on the wide variety of fresh Dutch products flown in weekly to Kuwait and distributed to all of TSC stores. Throughout the tour, attendees also tasted several Dutch products being sampled on several stations.
Afterwards, Mr. Malaeb welcomed H.E. in his speech and explained for the attendees the mutual collaboration between TSC and the Dutch embassy before handing H.E a souvenir from The Sultan center.
In his opening speech, the Netherlands ambassador praised the long standing relations with The Sultan Center and applauded the initiative of allocating a corner for organic products produced by local Kuwaiti farms. “We are here not only to promote the Dutch products, but also we want to introduce sustainable methods used in agriculture. Like in Kuwait, obesity in the Netherlands is a concerning matter, and our government tries to guide people to follow a better life style and to avoid processed products and fast food as much as possible.”
This year’s event also included a spectacular live cooking show by renowned Dutch TV Chef and cookbook author, Chef Rudolph, who captivated the audience displaying his cooking techniques and culinary skills. During the cooking demonstration, Chef Rudolph provided the audience with cooking advice on four different Healthy recipes and how to incorporate healthy ingredients within our daily diet to keep it rich and tasty at the same time.
