Job description

To assist in the supervision of the assigned department/store and ensure effective implementation of best practice standard

The main purposes for this job are:

  • Assisting in the supervision of and maintaining an efficient and effective team/department via understanding customer needs and requirements and endeavoring to exceed these wherever possible
  • Assisting in the development and motivation of the  team and promoting efficiency, budget awareness and company standards
  • Demonstrating a positive supervisory style with an enthusiastic, positive, committed and flexible attitude and promoting the importance and benefits of effective team working
  • Assisting with supervision of employees, championing ‘best practice’ and providing assistance/advice where required
  • Assisting with management of stock, wastage and sales figures; assisting with forecasts and work to targets. Assisting team in recognizing importance of KPI’s in relation to business success.
  • Generating new and innovative ideas to enhance and improve department; Maintaining equipment/product area effectively, efficiently and securely in line with ‘best practice’ and company policy
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards
  • Maximizes sales opportunities through commerciality and outstanding customer service.
  • Executing merchandising campaigns, promotions, and activities as assigned by store management
  • Attending to loss prevention and safety issues that may occur

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience in the supervision and coordination of store department operations activities, including shrink monitoring and merchandise guidelines implementation control
  • Previous customer service experience in large retail organization
