Kuwait – January, 2016

Following the success of last year’s event and the positive feedback received from the community, The Sultan Center (TSC) is “Bringing you food from the heart of Australia” to celebrate the Australian Food Festival from January 27th to February 6th across TSC’s Salmiya, Sharq, Hawally, Shaab and Al-Kout locations.

The Australian Food Festival was inaugurated under the patronage of the Australia Ambassador to Kuwait HE Warren Hauck, along with TSC’s Group International and Non-Food Commercial Director, Mr. Makram Malaeb and Commercial Director, Mr. Bassam Zantout. Attendees also included TSC management team and members of the Kuwait community.

Following the inauguration, attendees toured the store and had an opportunity to sample a wide selection of Australian food products. According to Mr. Makram Malaeb, “Given Australia’s natural resources, it’s no surprise that it produces some of the world’s best quality agricultural, dairy and meat products. TSC organizes the Australian Food Festival to highlight the large variety of premium-quality, direct imports. Our exclusive Australian range is comprised of over 1,000 products spread amongst a variety of categories: Wagyu meat, veal, organic lamb and beef, fruits and vegetables, bakery items, dairy products, frozen foods, dry foods, beverages, confectionary and many more. Mr. Malaeb added: “Addition to importing more than 1,000+ products and in line with TSC’s continuous focus on healthy living, we are expanding our range to include more organic and gluten free products, not only from Australia but from other global markets as well.

Australian produce is fresh, it’s clean, and it’s some of the best in the world” said Ambassador Hauck. “I’m very pleased that as part of the celebrations around Australia Day, we have been able to partner with the Sultan Centre to showcase our products” Mr. Hauck added.

Attendees expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the tasting stations and for the extensive selection of products on display and highlighted throughout the store. The store ambience evoked a true Australian down under theme, bringing food from the heart of Australia to the Kuwait community.

Throughout this festival, shoppers who use their TSC Rewards card and spend

KD 10 or more have an opportunity to enter a draw and win a round trip ticket for two from Etihad Airways including an eight day seven-night stay at a luxury hotel in Australia. TSC Reward card holders will also receive triple the points on any Australian product purchased from TSC participating stores during the festival.

To mark the closing of the event, officials from the Australian embassy, management and media representatives, were invited to a reception at Jeans Grill, a restaurant known for its wide array of international cuisine and local dishes with specially prepared Australian dishes served for the occasion.

The various theme week events hosted by TSC across the year have been extremely successful and reaffirm TSC’s continued commitment to providing its customers quality international goods.
